I have absolutely no idea why this sushi restaurant actually has over three stars. I'm giving it one and being generous. Not sure where to start..... Located right next to Bass Pro Shop, which must be the only reason it survives because of the heavy foot traffic. Let's start with dirty plates and sticky place settings. My Sake and Sapporo did come quickly which was a plus. It helped dull my senses for the very NOT fresh fish. The Hamachi was veiny and fishy tasting, the tuna was very tough and WAY not fresh, the spicy tuna roll was so spicy I can only guess it was like that to mask tuna that is even to old for their standards to serve on rice, Almost inedible. I will say my server was very polite and attentive. Sorry Sushiko, but you guys suck overall and especially on sushi, which is why I'm here. Won't be back. Almost forgot to mention the really bad sushi rice!! Which is key in making great sushi. It was dry, old, and odd tasting.

The hostess was very incompetent and could not understand how to seat a group of ten people but rather seat couples where a group tne could sit.. She also was very unhelpful through the whole process, even giving us our me us seemed to be a struggle for her.. Another man who I presume to be the owner seemed upset that we had ten people.. Do you want out business or would you rather us go somewhere else? The sushi was about average.. Nothing special. The different flavored sakes seemed like a good idea but once again.. Not very good. This place is more suitable for two and maybe for a lunch but not for a group.

The food is good, but the service sucked! Our miso soup wasn't delivered to our table until AFTER our rolls were served and AFTER I reminded the waitress about it. Then I had to remind her again about the fried rice I ordered, and she brought me brown rice. To top it off, we asked for the bill to be split evenly in two, but she charged the FULL amount to my card. Now I have to wait until the void goes through, but until then, this dinner cost me 85 dollars. Never eating here again. Most expensive poor service, I've ever experienced. It has been two days since this experience, and the money is still not back on my account. There's nothing I hate more than a poor waitress/ess. Totally ruined my experience.

My first time here at the boardwalk, and we decided to come here! Atmosphere is nice, server seems a little busy though since there was only two of them for dinner? Although they seem busy my food and drinks came out promptly :) Food: Sakura roll- wrapped in cucumber, salmon, YT, white tuna, and tuna, avocado, and my favorite part!! Some seaweed (from seaweed salad) On a bed of ponzu sauce, super refreshing and yummy! I also got the yellow tail nigiri sushi which was cut a very generous portion, and it had such a fresh, buttery taste. I would've ordered more if I wasn't full, that's how good it was. My boyfriend ordered the dinner spicy pork with fried rice which was good, but nothing too special because we always eat Korean food. It's a delicious dish to try though if you never had it before!

After eating here several times; more due to convenience while staying at the Margaritaville than anything else, I am done! The sushi ordered did not taste fresh, the tuna on the sashimi and rainbow roll was gray. I called over the mgr and he said that sometimes it comes like that. Really?? My co worker ordered the bento with sashimi and eggrolls. It was served with 3 full size egg rolls, in addition to the 2 small spring rolls that already come with it. Who can eat that many, does not make any sense to include them in the box. So they skimp on the sashimi and load it up with egg rolls, gee thanks. Service was attentive, but kitchen way too slow and then some guy walked in and the staff got busy chatting with him and goofing around. Not really acceptable in front of the house where patrons are dining. At this point, scratched off the visit list permanently.

The dilemma I always have at any sushi restaurant is ordering way too much. I really like come to Sushiko because the Bento box always keeps me wrangled. A little sushi and a little teriyaki or whatever. I'm not sure whether they are a chain or a locally owned, but I found that their sesame chicken is absolutely fabulous.

My mom and I were in Shreveport for a conference, and we were staying at one of the hotels nearby. We decided to walk over to Sushiko for lunch on Sunday. We were seated immediately, but the place filled up pretty quickly with other diners. Now while I'm a bit of a sushi snob, my mom had never eaten sushi before. I ordered the tuna sashimi and my mom ordered a bento box. We were served promptly, and all of our food tasted fresh. My mom loved the bento box, and I was impressed by the generous portion of sashimi. My only complaint is that I was not given enough wasabi, but since my mom let me have hers, it all worked out! The ginger was only meh. I will definitely be eating here again the next time I'm in the area.

It is what it is. The food was actually really good, except I wasn't a fan of the Eel roll unless you like slimy fish. The fried rice was excellent and I'm a rice snob. Really what ruined it for us was our waiter. He never came back to the table except when we flagged him down for some napkins and silver ware that we didn't have. He never refilled our drinks or checked on us. What a shame. If you don't care that the place is a little cramped and that the service is hit or miss the food was good.

I haven't eaten sushi in several years, and my friend has only eaten it in NYC and only the cooked variety. She says tempura shrimp plate here was, by far, the best she ever had. My nigiri had so much yellow tale that it draped over the rice. The rainbow, eel and salmon rolls were outstanding. I would have given this place five stars were it not for the competition in my mind with a few sushi bars in Las Vegas where I used to live.

Not bad, not bad at all! They have pretty big portions and great lunch bento boxes. I had the spicy pork (Korean dish) and the sushi. The pork was very delicious and totally hit the spot because I've been craving Korean food for a week and being out here in Shreveport for a month doesn't give you many Korean food options. However, I think Sushiko is Korean owned so they do have a few Korean dishes. I've eaten here three times so far and been satisfied every time. The fish is fresh and huge slices of sashimi/sushi. The seaweed salad was pretty good as well. Overall they have a great selection of sushi options/udon and teriyaki so you really can't go wrong. I think it's the only sushi restaurant in this area that I would trust. Some of my friends checked out a few other spots in this area and were very disappointed. So I think I'll stick to Sushiko while I'm out here. But do keep in mind this isn't your traditional Japanese Sushi restaurant, it's more Americanized so it's great as long as that's what you're looking for.

Tried this place out a few times. Each time I get the same set of rolls with one added that I have not tried before. I do not know what their turnover rate is like but each time I have ordered the same rolls as last they are different. So one strike for lack of being consistent. Their food pricing is a tad bit ridiculous. I can understand if they would offer valet parking and sucked up to the customers. But they do not. Maybe their pricing is normal to get fresh fish this far from a body of water that actually has decent healthy fish. But there are places who can make the same exact food with better service and better parking that is half the price of this place.

We came here two nights in a row, Monday, and Tuesday, while my husband was here in Shreveport on business. We decided to come in for a much anticipated date night before heading to Margaritaville casino. It was not busy, maybe 4 other tables in there at the time. We were greeted and sat promptly. The server was great, he was attentive, and friendly...the menu offers a lot of choices, even a kids menu which not a lot of sushi places do, they even seem to be very kid friendly (displaying children's color pages) which, again, not a lot of sushi places are. We didn't have our children with us, but I definitely took note of this when we brought our kids there the next night for day two. We ordered the dinner bento, which was THE BEST!! Miso soup, salad, rice, half an orange, two eggrolls, and two items of your choice of which both my husband and I chose sushi (there was plenty to choose from). The food was great, the fish tasted fresh and the miso dressing on the salad was wonderful. On night two everything was just as good, dinner bentos again and our server was a very friendly young lady who was very kind to our five year old. She really made our daughter feel special by bringing out a Sundae for her just the way she wanted and taking her order "like she was a real grownup." I loved it here...highly recommended.

My favorite restaurant I have been to on my visit to Shreveport, and I've been exploring tons of places on this trip. For those that enjoy sushi but are always wary of visiting an unknown sushi restaurant when out of town, this place gets my stamp of approval. The sushi is good and fresh. I've tried their salmon, yellowtail, smelt roe, albacore, white tuna, and only didn't enjoy the mackerel cut I got one time. Wanted to try toro but they didn't have any fresh at this time. The menu items were good: BBQ ribs, chicken etc. The batter on the soft shell crab and shrimp tempura was a little thick, it's rare I find a place outside of my favorites in LA that use the right amount. They do takeout and have a good amount of seats. Service is slow for large groups over 6+ but most places are.

I love love love this place for sushi rolls. Its really convenient on the Boardwalk so it's perfect for a dinner date before the movies. Every time I go I only get the Crawfish roll. If you like a generous portion of spicy crawfish topped on a California Roll and baked, this roll is for you! For non sea food lover they also have a great Texas Roll with steak, asparagus, and cream cheese. It gives you the roll experience without the shellfish. My boyfriend gets that every time we go since he is allergic to shellfish. He also always get the bento box. A great appetizer is the monkey brains. Don't be alarmed its just a crabmeat filled avocado that's fried. I think, lol. But it is crazy Delicious. I've only been to a few sushi spots in Shreveport/ Bossier, but after finding this place I didn't have to look any further.

First of all, the service was terrible. We were seated and ordered, then waited an hour before we were served our entrees. All the salads had more dressing than lettuce. The miso soup was awful. We were not even given napkins. The most exciting thing out of our entire dinner was the orange on the side. Besides the food, the resraurant atmosphere was dark and grungy. This place recently took over the Stone Horse Bistro location and has re-modeled it. Gone is the conveyor belt that never ran, gone is the enclosed kitchen. Pretty decent sushi (though there's not a lot you can do to mess up sushi except cut it incorrectly). Cuts were large enough for you to practically wrap the fish around the rice. No dollop of wasabi on the rice to stick the fish to so somewhat bland nigiri pieces. salad and soup pretty common fare. Will go again as a "cheap sushi joint"

This place might surprise you - because it surprised me. The menu selection is large and I'm always leery of small places with large menus. It's hard to offer that many items and maintain quality. Don't eat here if you're expecting a traditional Japanese - it's not. But if tricked up Amercianized rolls are your thing, then this is your place to be. They do that very well here. Also, the portions are Americanized too - they're big. My red snapper and yellow tail nigirizushi were hanging over the formed rice - it was quite the mouthful. The rolls were generous also. Typically I can power through a few rolls and 6 or 8 pieces of nigirizushi and be satisfied but here I had one roll and 4 pieces of nigirizushi plus a squid salad and I left stuffed.

Shreveport, Louisiana doesn't have many asian restaurants available especially when it comes to sushi... This is a Korean owned Japanese restaurant that has a decent sized menu that includes a few Korean dishes... I'm very picky when it comes too sushi, probably I've been spoiled by the best! This place is not pricey compared to the other places I've been but again I'm picky since we are dealing with raw fish... So, that being said, the sushi was not good... Way too much rice and fish not too fresh... I do go to eat here many times since I need asian food but the only sushi I feel safe in ordering is the Ikura and the Massago (Salmon and Shrimp eggs)... However what is good are the korean dishes. I go in and just order the short ribs, or Galbi each time esp. cause there are no Korean BBQ places around here... The waitress' and waiters are kinda hit or miss... They don't know much about the asian cuisine and if you start ordering by the asian name, i.e. Galbi, Massago and so on, they will look at you clueless... Also being that I go in a lot and my tip avg. is 25% I expect the service to get a little better each time, but maybe that's just how I think...

How does this place only have 3 1/2 Stars?? I was impressed and surprised by how great everything was at Sushiko. After spending too much time in Bass Pro, we decided to grab some sushi. We walked in around 4pm (thurs) and it was completely empty. We were the ONLY people in there, We ordered the 007 Roll, Seaweed Salad, Ahi Tower, Salad, Miso Soup, Monkey Brains and another roll that we don't remember the name of. First of all, the dressing on the salad was AMAZING and was topped with crunchies that made it just a great tasting salad. Seaweed salad tasted just like seaweed salad- no surprises there- but it was good! Monkey brains, 007 and Ahi Tower = YUM! YUM! YUM! We live on the coast and are used to great sushi, but this place was "some of the best sushi I've ever had" according to my husband. And I agree. Service was great, place was clean and nice, food was delicious. 5 Stars from me! 4 1/2 from the hubs. Bravo

One of the nicer Sushi restaurants in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. I call it Redneck Sushi lol. The decor is nice, service is good, but as any restaurant when it gets busy service will be slow. I came in at lunch and ordered the Bento box, Teri chicken and Tempura, it came with a salad and Miso soup. I also ordered hot tea. The bad: the rice was soggy, the chicken was kinda tough, and the hot tea...well it was Luke warm. Typical fast food sushi joint..but it's ok. I ordered a spicy tuna roll...it was pretty decent. Normally on our trips to Shreveport, we eat at SakeSushi. However, the Detroit Lions just went into OT and this spot appeared in front of us. We peeked in...atmosphere looked like your typical mall restaurant. Our expectations weren't high, but they had TVs with football, so here we were. Started our order with edamame and miso soup. Edamame was chewy and the soup was bland. For rolls, we ordered the Ulta mate tuna, the sunshine, and the Something wrong #1. Though presentation was seriously lacking, due to lack of sauces and eggs and size, what we ordered was delicious! The Ulta mate tuna was very spicy and goooooood. The Something wrong was also surprisingly tasty, as was the sunshine. We asked for wooden chopsticks, which we prefer to the plastic, and our server was very friendly. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised...and the Lions won. :)

Not sure why so many people are not that excited with this restaurant, I strongly believe it is one of the better sushi restaurants around this area. The atmosphere is better than you can expect, considering that it is in shopping center. Eat here with a group of 8 people, service was prompt, courteous and right the first time when everything came out. All of the rolls that everyone had were more than generous portions, and the quality of cuts and fish were very appropriate. Bento boxes were also a nice taste when you don't want to fully commit to just one dish. I recommend this place for sushi, without a doubt.

I have to defend this place. One of my favorite sushi places now. I usually always take advice that I find on yelp and thankfully I couldn't look it up on my phone that day. I would have missed out on a seriously good meal. We went on a Saturday night during Mardi Gras. There was a pretty big crowd (after the Gemini parade) and they told us it'd be a 15 minute wait. We sat at the bar and I got a strong large sake while my boyfriend had a whiskey and coke. The bar maid was really cute and very social. When we were seated we found that this place was actually a Japanese sushi bar (which is unusual around the East Texas area in my experience, the majority is Vietnamese or Korean). Usually when you go to a sushi place and they have hamachi kama on the menu you know it's Japanese (even though they had some Korean dishes on the menu as well). They also had a selection of udon, appetizers, and salads that are not usually in this part of the country. We got the baked green mussels which were really good, shrimp and veggie tempura, hamachi kama, a delicious spicy tako salad (mmm), the titanic roll (good), a really good fried roll that I forgot the name of, an array of perfect sashimi, and a fireman roll (which I highly recommend to the California roll fans) that came engulfed in flames... I also got a yummy salmon skin hand roll and my b/f had a spicy yellow-tail hand roll that was good too. The prices were all very inexpensive except the fireman roll ($16) and the hand rolls ($6.50). You can get them as regular sized rolls and get more but my boyfriend thinks hand rolls are special for some reason... We pigged out for a pretty low price. The service was excellent too. It's definitely not a traditional Japanese sushi bar but they have great sushi and some traditional dishes too. Very cool place. Don't pass this place by, it's really worth it.

I love this little spot!! Once I'm inside, I forget I'm in SBC (I try to forget very often). During a super hot summer day, it is cool inside thanks to the darkened windows. They have several televisions turned to sports (read: guy-friendly), but they are nice enough to turn a television to another channel if you ask. The food is delish, but can be a little pricey for dinner, as I have not noticed a big difference in the lunch and dinner portions. I wish I had more meat and vegetables than rice for the dinner portion. I've been about half a dozen times; my only complaint is once I had a young waiter who would NOT shut up! He kept passing by my table and striking up conversations with me and it took me an hour to eat my food. So....minus one star, but overall, I definitely recommend Sushiko!

Sushiko at the Boardwalk is a decent sushi joint. A girlfriend of mine and I shared one of the big platters there recently, and were taken aback by the quality. The roll we ordered had crab which tasted more like sand than crab meat. That was a major disappointment, and we haven't been back since. However, before that, Sushiko was our 2nd favorite place to go. Mostly friendly service, a little crowded, a little neglected, but the sushi was almost always good.

We've found that it's hard to find good ethnic food in the Shreveport/Bossier City area, so I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It's located at the very end of the Boardwalk by Bass Pro Shops. They had a full bar, so I asked for a strawberry daquiri, and my boyfriend had the large hot sake, which was a pricey $9. The daquiri was a decent size with a good amount of whipped cream on top. Love the whipped cream! For appetizers, we ordered the steamed beef gyoza and seaweed salad. Both tasted great. I tried the miso soup, and it was a little bland. We also ordered several rolls, including the spicy tuna, the jalapeno roll, and the Yum Yum roll, which had shrimp tempura. The rolls tasted fine, but the presentation was very messy! They were clumped together, stacked on top of each other, and the end pieces were unusually huge with large chunks of food sticking out. The toppings were carelessly strewn all over. Probably the messiest I've seen. The decor is nice. The windows are blacked out to give the place a darkened effect, even when it's sunny outside. We sat along a wooden bench against the wall, but it was way too hard and uncomfortable. Service was great. Prices were average, except for the sake. My boyfriend thought this place was just mediocre, but I think they deserve a little more credit, considering the location. I wouldn't mind coming back here when we're in this area again.

I stopped into Sushiko during a recent shopping trip to the Boardwalk. I don't like to eat alone, but thought this place would be perfect, because I can sit at the sushi bar and play on my iPhone to keep myself distracted while my food was being prepared. It was fairly crowded at 1 pm on a Friday. Most patrons were wearing business attire, which I thought that was weird because it's not close to a business district. Good sign if people have to make an effort to eat here during lunch. I scanned the menu which was pretty extensive in appetizers, main courses, and sushi...the usual Japanese-American offerings. I decided on the bento box with a tuna sushi roll and vegetable tempura. I entertained myself by listening to the sushi chef bitch at the other chef in Japanese. It was kind of funny, but not so much when I realized he was making my sushi. I felt sorry for the fish he was about to hack to death. The bento box was huge! I couldn't even eat all of it. I could have done without the big lump of rice, but everything else was fantastic and fresh. They should consider serving miso instead of rice when a stir fry or alike dish is not ordered with the box. My waitress was very attentive and checked on me several times throughout my meal and didn't blink an eye when I ordered a beer while dining by myself at lunch. The decor could use some help. It's a dark place and is somewhat intimidating if you have been there before. I look forward to dining here again on my next trip to Bossier.

This place is one of the best. I would put it the food up against any other sushi place outside of NY or CA! Drinks are very reasonable, $6 for a small bottle of Ozeki Dry! The decor Is a bit to restaurant like and could use a makeover to take it to the next level and capture the higher local and more of the casino crowd, but then again it is 25 yards from the Bass Pro Shop so maybe this works for them. Paradise roll is HUGE and easily shared by two. Everyone here is very nice and accommodating and more than glad to specialize your roll(ie spicier and no rice! )

Located at the Louisiana Boardwalk, Sushiko was recomended by some freinds from work. It's a great location, the boardwalk is a pretty fun place to wonder around, not the best mall in the world but that's for a different review I guess. As for Sushiko, it's a nice, clean place with plenty of seating. I sat at the sushi bar as I was by myself. They have a little mini bar in the back corner, not sure what the point of that was, almost looks like a tiki bar you can buy at Costco. You get a free bowl of Miso soup which i'm a fan of, I normally get it anyways so free rocks! I got Unagi and a roll of some kind, forget exactly what it was. The fact that I can't remember a whole lot about it says alot, it was ok, nothing special, and it was a little smaller than what I thought it would be. The Unagi was good, kinda hard to really screw that up. I also got the Amaebi, sweet shrimp, and really wasn't a fan of it. I've never had sweet shrimp before so I dont' know if it was just because I wasn't a fan or if it wasn't all that good. All in all the place is pretty nice and is located at the Boardwalk so i'm sure i'll be back.

I blame myself on this one. I should have known not to try sushi in Bossier City, LA. I pretty much got what I deserved. I guess I figured that since it was a newly developed shopping/restaurant area on the river (The Boardwalk) with many fairly good chain restaurants that this local sushi place would have to be decent. Well, it wasn't. The drinks they had were good and thats how it gets a 1 star (and because 0 stars is not possible). We started with spring rolls. You pretty much have to have sweet and sour sauce for spring rolls. The problem was, it was ketchup with some pineapple juice mixed in! Luckily I didnt dive in and try it, someone else did or I probably would have spit it out. The sushi prices were fairly high but I decided to get 2 of the pricier items since they looked pretty good on the menu. One was served flaming with some impressive description. Well, when it came out it had some tin foil wrapped around the rolls and a little flame. They blow it out and when you unwrap it its just some glorified crunchy rolls ith a mound of fake crab meat on top. My other roll was really good for the first bite, then when I realized it tasted EXACTLY like coffee I started gagging everytime I ate a piece. This place seems like the type of place white people would open thinking they know sushi better than Japanese do. Stay.Away.

Visiting from Calgary and wanted something lighter for diner. Wondered in off the street without any expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised! The chef's were actually Japanese and very attentive. I had the Chirashi which I've had in many sushi places. I figure it's a good way to get a sampling of a number of different types of sashimi. It was very fresh and nicely presented. I didn't think $21.95 which included salad and miso soup was a bad price considering the size of the portion.I'll definitely go back during my two week stay.

True sushi doesn't have the word "roll" in it. The sushi and shashimi is fresh and well prepared. It's not Nobu but it's not bad (especially for Shreveport, LA). It is also very consistent as I have eaten there more than a dozen times.

No more! Done for good. Gave Sushiko over a year since my last visit, as last one left a horrible impression. Wife and I were so skeptical we only ordered 1 roll, Sunshine roll, to try first before committing to the rest of the menu. Glad we did. 10$ for a roll that was smaller than my son's California roll. Fish not fresh, slightly chewy , cut poorly (no consistency) and honestly didn't taste good. Service was OK but all over the place, fully expect to wait when the location isn't even half-full. Again, clear lack of upkeep, cleaning etc. Atmosphere is not what it used to be. I implore everyone to please avoid this place. I understand it's at the boardwalk but it is NOT the sushi place it was when it first opened (Which was #1 by far in its glory days). I am not sure what happened, new management or what, but I will not be returning until I see either a new restaurant take it's place or a sign saying "under new management" Diners please read my last two reviews, starting in 2013, this is not a fluke.

Dinner on a whim here tonight... Just an average sushi place. I ordered the Something Wrong #4 and Husband ordered the Pick 3 platter with a Cali Roll, Philly Roll and Texas Roll. My roll was mediocre, partially because it contained something that I was unsure of and the shrimp tempura wasn't fresh. Husband enjoyed his, even though his platter didn't contain as much as the menu lead us to believe. Miso soup was up to par, but the ginger salad was DISGUSTING! I've never had ginger salad dressing like that... And I hope to never again. Service was nice, and we received our food quickly. I'd probably eat there again considering it's location, but would like to try other sushi restaurants when possible.

Talk about fresh sushi! In town for the weekend and came here for dinner. We sat at the sushi bar (getting right in with no wait), and service was fantastic! A must to try is the Give Me Five Roll, and the sashimi sampler. I loved everything about this place, even though it's a pretty small restaurant over all, the ambiance is nice for a nice dinner. We were from out of town, but I would go back!

Great low-key restaurant. In the area for a night and walked over from the Courtyard Marriott. Was in the mood for sushi so I thought I'd give them a try. I would describe this place as a not-so-fancy restaurant with fancy rolls. Come in your shorts, but sushi chefs will make some great rolls. My problem was I came in hungry so I ordered shumai, a Hollywood roll AND shrimp udon noodles. Needless to say that I only finished my roll and didn't touch anything else. The food was good and I'll come back if in the area. My server was nice as well with recommendations (although she should have probably told me that I was ordering for 4 and not for 1! Lol)

I have absolutely no idea why this sushi restaurant actually has over three stars. I'm giving it one and being generous. Not sure where to start..... Located right next to Bass Pro Shop, which must be the only reason it survives because of the heavy foot traffic. Let's start with dirty plates and sticky place settings. My Sake and Sapporo did come quickly which was a plus. It helped dull my senses for the very NOT fresh fish. The Hamachi was veiny and fishy tasting, the tuna was very tough and WAY not fresh, the spicy tuna roll was so spicy I can only guess it was like that to mask tuna that is even to old for their standards to serve on rice, Almost inedible. I will say my server was very polite and attentive. Sorry Sushiko, but you guys suck overall and especially on sushi, which is why I'm here. Won't be back. Almost forgot to mention the really bad sushi rice!! Which is key in making great sushi. It was dry, old, and odd tasting.

The hostess was very incompetent and could not understand how to seat a group of ten people but rather seat couples where a group tne could sit.. She also was very unhelpful through the whole process, even giving us our me us seemed to be a struggle for her.. Another man who I presume to be the owner seemed upset that we had ten people.. Do you want out business or would you rather us go somewhere else? The sushi was about average.. Nothing special. The different flavored sakes seemed like a good idea but once again.. Not very good. This place is more suitable for two and maybe for a lunch but not for a group.

The food is good, but the service sucked! Our miso soup wasn't delivered to our table until AFTER our rolls were served and AFTER I reminded the waitress about it. Then I had to remind her again about the fried rice I ordered, and she brought me brown rice. To top it off, we asked for the bill to be split evenly in two, but she charged the FULL amount to my card. Now I have to wait until the void goes through, but until then, this dinner cost me 85 dollars. Never eating here again. Most expensive poor service, I've ever experienced. It has been two days since this experience, and the money is still not back on my account. There's nothing I hate more than a poor waitress/ess. Totally ruined my experience.

My first time here at the boardwalk, and we decided to come here! Atmosphere is nice, server seems a little busy though since there was only two of them for dinner? Although they seem busy my food and drinks came out promptly :) Food: Sakura roll- wrapped in cucumber, salmon, YT, white tuna, and tuna, avocado, and my favorite part!! Some seaweed (from seaweed salad) On a bed of ponzu sauce, super refreshing and yummy! I also got the yellow tail nigiri sushi which was cut a very generous portion, and it had such a fresh, buttery taste. I would've ordered more if I wasn't full, that's how good it was. My boyfriend ordered the dinner spicy pork with fried rice which was good, but nothing too special because we always eat Korean food. It's a delicious dish to try though if you never had it before!

After eating here several times; more due to convenience while staying at the Margaritaville than anything else, I am done! The sushi ordered did not taste fresh, the tuna on the sashimi and rainbow roll was gray. I called over the mgr and he said that sometimes it comes like that. Really?? My co worker ordered the bento with sashimi and eggrolls. It was served with 3 full size egg rolls, in addition to the 2 small spring rolls that already come with it. Who can eat that many, does not make any sense to include them in the box. So they skimp on the sashimi and load it up with egg rolls, gee thanks. Service was attentive, but kitchen way too slow and then some guy walked in and the staff got busy chatting with him and goofing around. Not really acceptable in front of the house where patrons are dining. At this point, scratched off the visit list permanently.

The dilemma I always have at any sushi restaurant is ordering way too much. I really like come to Sushiko because the Bento box always keeps me wrangled. A little sushi and a little teriyaki or whatever. I'm not sure whether they are a chain or a locally owned, but I found that their sesame chicken is absolutely fabulous.

My mom and I were in Shreveport for a conference, and we were staying at one of the hotels nearby. We decided to walk over to Sushiko for lunch on Sunday. We were seated immediately, but the place filled up pretty quickly with other diners. Now while I'm a bit of a sushi snob, my mom had never eaten sushi before. I ordered the tuna sashimi and my mom ordered a bento box. We were served promptly, and all of our food tasted fresh. My mom loved the bento box, and I was impressed by the generous portion of sashimi. My only complaint is that I was not given enough wasabi, but since my mom let me have hers, it all worked out! The ginger was only meh. I will definitely be eating here again the next time I'm in the area.

It is what it is. The food was actually really good, except I wasn't a fan of the Eel roll unless you like slimy fish. The fried rice was excellent and I'm a rice snob. Really what ruined it for us was our waiter. He never came back to the table except when we flagged him down for some napkins and silver ware that we didn't have. He never refilled our drinks or checked on us. What a shame. If you don't care that the place is a little cramped and that the service is hit or miss the food was good.

I haven't eaten sushi in several years, and my friend has only eaten it in NYC and only the cooked variety. She says tempura shrimp plate here was, by far, the best she ever had. My nigiri had so much yellow tale that it draped over the rice. The rainbow, eel and salmon rolls were outstanding. I would have given this place five stars were it not for the competition in my mind with a few sushi bars in Las Vegas where I used to live.

Not bad, not bad at all! They have pretty big portions and great lunch bento boxes. I had the spicy pork (Korean dish) and the sushi. The pork was very delicious and totally hit the spot because I've been craving Korean food for a week and being out here in Shreveport for a month doesn't give you many Korean food options. However, I think Sushiko is Korean owned so they do have a few Korean dishes. I've eaten here three times so far and been satisfied every time. The fish is fresh and huge slices of sashimi/sushi. The seaweed salad was pretty good as well. Overall they have a great selection of sushi options/udon and teriyaki so you really can't go wrong. I think it's the only sushi restaurant in this area that I would trust. Some of my friends checked out a few other spots in this area and were very disappointed. So I think I'll stick to Sushiko while I'm out here. But do keep in mind this isn't your traditional Japanese Sushi restaurant, it's more Americanized so it's great as long as that's what you're looking for.

Tried this place out a few times. Each time I get the same set of rolls with one added that I have not tried before. I do not know what their turnover rate is like but each time I have ordered the same rolls as last they are different. So one strike for lack of being consistent. Their food pricing is a tad bit ridiculous. I can understand if they would offer valet parking and sucked up to the customers. But they do not. Maybe their pricing is normal to get fresh fish this far from a body of water that actually has decent healthy fish. But there are places who can make the same exact food with better service and better parking that is half the price of this place.

We came here two nights in a row, Monday, and Tuesday, while my husband was here in Shreveport on business. We decided to come in for a much anticipated date night before heading to Margaritaville casino. It was not busy, maybe 4 other tables in there at the time. We were greeted and sat promptly. The server was great, he was attentive, and friendly...the menu offers a lot of choices, even a kids menu which not a lot of sushi places do, they even seem to be very kid friendly (displaying children's color pages) which, again, not a lot of sushi places are. We didn't have our children with us, but I definitely took note of this when we brought our kids there the next night for day two. We ordered the dinner bento, which was THE BEST!! Miso soup, salad, rice, half an orange, two eggrolls, and two items of your choice of which both my husband and I chose sushi (there was plenty to choose from). The food was great, the fish tasted fresh and the miso dressing on the salad was wonderful. On night two everything was just as good, dinner bentos again and our server was a very friendly young lady who was very kind to our five year old. She really made our daughter feel special by bringing out a Sundae for her just the way she wanted and taking her order "like she was a real grownup." I loved it here...highly recommended.

My favorite restaurant I have been to on my visit to Shreveport, and I've been exploring tons of places on this trip. For those that enjoy sushi but are always wary of visiting an unknown sushi restaurant when out of town, this place gets my stamp of approval. The sushi is good and fresh. I've tried their salmon, yellowtail, smelt roe, albacore, white tuna, and only didn't enjoy the mackerel cut I got one time. Wanted to try toro but they didn't have any fresh at this time. The menu items were good: BBQ ribs, chicken etc. The batter on the soft shell crab and shrimp tempura was a little thick, it's rare I find a place outside of my favorites in LA that use the right amount. They do takeout and have a good amount of seats. Service is slow for large groups over 6+ but most places are.

I love love love this place for sushi rolls. Its really convenient on the Boardwalk so it's perfect for a dinner date before the movies. Every time I go I only get the Crawfish roll. If you like a generous portion of spicy crawfish topped on a California Roll and baked, this roll is for you! For non sea food lover they also have a great Texas Roll with steak, asparagus, and cream cheese. It gives you the roll experience without the shellfish. My boyfriend gets that every time we go since he is allergic to shellfish. He also always get the bento box. A great appetizer is the monkey brains. Don't be alarmed its just a crabmeat filled avocado that's fried. I think, lol. But it is crazy Delicious. I've only been to a few sushi spots in Shreveport/ Bossier, but after finding this place I didn't have to look any further.

This place recently took over the Stone Horse Bistro location and has re-modeled it. Gone is the conveyor belt that never ran, gone is the enclosed kitchen. Pretty decent sushi (though there's not a lot you can do to mess up sushi except cut it incorrectly). Cuts were large enough for you to practically wrap the fish around the rice. No dollop of wasabi on the rice to stick the fish to so somewhat bland nigiri pieces. salad and soup pretty common fare. Will go again as a "cheap sushi joint"

This place might surprise you - because it surprised me. The menu selection is large and I'm always leery of small places with large menus. It's hard to offer that many items and maintain quality. Don't eat here if you're expecting a traditional Japanese - it's not. But if tricked up Amercianized rolls are your thing, then this is your place to be. They do that very well here. Also, the portions are Americanized too - they're big. My red snapper and yellow tail nigirizushi were hanging over the formed rice - it was quite the mouthful. The rolls were generous also. Typically I can power through a few rolls and 6 or 8 pieces of nigirizushi and be satisfied but here I had one roll and 4 pieces of nigirizushi plus a squid salad and I left stuffed.

Shreveport, Louisiana doesn't have many asian restaurants available especially when it comes to sushi... This is a Korean owned Japanese restaurant that has a decent sized menu that includes a few Korean dishes... I'm very picky when it comes too sushi, probably I've been spoiled by the best! This place is not pricey compared to the other places I've been but again I'm picky since we are dealing with raw fish... So, that being said, the sushi was not good... Way too much rice and fish not too fresh... I do go to eat here many times since I need asian food but the only sushi I feel safe in ordering is the Ikura and the Massago (Salmon and Shrimp eggs)... However what is good are the korean dishes. I go in and just order the short ribs, or Galbi each time esp. cause there are no Korean BBQ places around here... The waitress' and waiters are kinda hit or miss... They don't know much about the asian cuisine and if you start ordering by the asian name, i.e. Galbi, Massago and so on, they will look at you clueless... Also being that I go in a lot and my tip avg. is 25% I expect the service to get a little better each time, but maybe that's just how I think...

How does this place only have 3 1/2 Stars?? I was impressed and surprised by how great everything was at Sushiko. After spending too much time in Bass Pro, we decided to grab some sushi. We walked in around 4pm (thurs) and it was completely empty. We were the ONLY people in there, We ordered the 007 Roll, Seaweed Salad, Ahi Tower, Salad, Miso Soup, Monkey Brains and another roll that we don't remember the name of. First of all, the dressing on the salad was AMAZING and was topped with crunchies that made it just a great tasting salad. Seaweed salad tasted just like seaweed salad- no surprises there- but it was good! Monkey brains, 007 and Ahi Tower = YUM! YUM! YUM! We live on the coast and are used to great sushi, but this place was "some of the best sushi I've ever had" according to my husband. And I agree. Service was great, place was clean and nice, food was delicious. 5 Stars from me! 4 1/2 from the hubs. Bravo

This place was alright. The sushi was OK and very bland. The ginger dressing was nothing spectacular and the salad looked like it came out of a bag. The sesame chicken tasted like just plain fried tempura with no flavor and the egg rolls tasted like they were frozen. The staff was friendly, polite and quick and that's why rated it 2 stars. Next time I'm here I'll probably go to buffalo wild wings or salt grass though.

One of the nicer Sushi restaurants in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. I call it Redneck Sushi lol. The decor is nice, service is good, but as any restaurant when it gets busy service will be slow. I came in at lunch and ordered the Bento box, Teri chicken and Tempura, it came with a salad and Miso soup. I also ordered hot tea. The bad: the rice was soggy, the chicken was kinda tough, and the hot tea...well it was Luke warm. Typical fast food sushi joint..but it's ok. I ordered a spicy tuna roll...it was pretty decent. This is probably the best sushi place in Bossier City. It's trendy (as far as Bossier City is concerned) and the food tasty and fresh. They have a very extensive menu and the waitstaff has always been very helpful. It might be worth noting that they do not handle groups of 8 or more very well.

Normally on our trips to Shreveport, we eat at SakeSushi. However, the Detroit Lions just went into OT and this spot appeared in front of us. We peeked in...atmosphere looked like your typical mall restaurant. Our expectations weren't high, but they had TVs with football, so here we were. Started our order with edamame and miso soup. Edamame was chewy and the soup was bland. For rolls, we ordered the Ulta mate tuna, the sunshine, and the Something wrong #1. Though presentation was seriously lacking, due to lack of sauces and eggs and size, what we ordered was delicious! The Ulta mate tuna was very spicy and goooooood. The Something wrong was also surprisingly tasty, as was the sunshine. We asked for wooden chopsticks, which we prefer to the plastic, and our server was very friendly. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised...and the Lions won. :)

Not sure why so many people are not that excited with this restaurant, I strongly believe it is one of the better sushi restaurants around this area. The atmosphere is better than you can expect, considering that it is in shopping center. Eat here with a group of 8 people, service was prompt, courteous and right the first time when everything came out. All of the rolls that everyone had were more than generous portions, and the quality of cuts and fish were very appropriate. Bento boxes were also a nice taste when you don't want to fully commit to just one dish. I recommend this place for sushi, without a doubt.

I have to defend this place. One of my favorite sushi places now. I usually always take advice that I find on yelp and thankfully I couldn't look it up on my phone that day. I would have missed out on a seriously good meal. We went on a Saturday night during Mardi Gras. There was a pretty big crowd (after the Gemini parade) and they told us it'd be a 15 minute wait. We sat at the bar and I got a strong large sake while my boyfriend had a whiskey and coke. The bar maid was really cute and very social. When we were seated we found that this place was actually a Japanese sushi bar (which is unusual around the East Texas area in my experience, the majority is Vietnamese or Korean). Usually when you go to a sushi place and they have hamachi kama on the menu you know it's Japanese (even though they had some Korean dishes on the menu as well). They also had a selection of udon, appetizers, and salads that are not usually in this part of the country. We got the baked green mussels which were really good, shrimp and veggie tempura, hamachi kama, a delicious spicy tako salad (mmm), the titanic roll (good), a really good fried roll that I forgot the name of, an array of perfect sashimi, and a fireman roll (which I highly recommend to the California roll fans) that came engulfed in flames... I also got a yummy salmon skin hand roll and my b/f had a spicy yellow-tail hand roll that was good too. The prices were all very inexpensive except the fireman roll ($16) and the hand rolls ($6.50). You can get them as regular sized rolls and get more but my boyfriend thinks hand rolls are special for some reason... We pigged out for a pretty low price. The service was excellent too. It's definitely not a traditional Japanese sushi bar but they have great sushi and some traditional dishes too. Very cool place. Don't pass this place by, it's really worth it.

Sushiko is my favorite sushi restraunt in Shreveport / Bossier by a long shot. They have an excellent variety of nigiri rolls, regular rolls, baked rolls, specialty rolls, sashimi, & grill items at great prices. My favorite rolls is the yummy-yummy roll & boston roll, and it is what I get friends who are just starting to eat sushi to try first. The miso soup & eggrolls are also wonderful.

I love this little spot!! Once I'm inside, I forget I'm in SBC (I try to forget very often). During a super hot summer day, it is cool inside thanks to the darkened windows. They have several televisions turned to sports (read: guy-friendly), but they are nice enough to turn a television to another channel if you ask. The food is delish, but can be a little pricey for dinner, as I have not noticed a big difference in the lunch and dinner portions. I wish I had more meat and vegetables than rice for the dinner portion. I've been about half a dozen times; my only complaint is once I had a young waiter who would NOT shut up! He kept passing by my table and striking up conversations with me and it took me an hour to eat my food. So....minus one star, but overall, I definitely recommend Sushiko!

Food is always great. Best sushi in the area. Service is always great as well. We throw the staff a curve ball when we order and they always get it perfect. I don't normally eat salad...but I would come here just for the miso dressing.

Sushiko at the Boardwalk is a decent sushi joint. A girlfriend of mine and I shared one of the big platters there recently, and were taken aback by the quality. The roll we ordered had crab which tasted more like sand than crab meat. That was a major disappointment, and we haven't been back since. However, before that, Sushiko was our 2nd favorite place to go. Mostly friendly service, a little crowded, a little neglected, but the sushi was almost always good.

We've found that it's hard to find good ethnic food in the Shreveport/Bossier City area, so I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It's located at the very end of the Boardwalk by Bass Pro Shops. They had a full bar, so I asked for a strawberry daquiri, and my boyfriend had the large hot sake, which was a pricey $9. The daquiri was a decent size with a good amount of whipped cream on top. Love the whipped cream! For appetizers, we ordered the steamed beef gyoza and seaweed salad. Both tasted great. I tried the miso soup, and it was a little bland. We also ordered several rolls, including the spicy tuna, the jalapeno roll, and the Yum Yum roll, which had shrimp tempura. The rolls tasted fine, but the presentation was very messy! They were clumped together, stacked on top of each other, and the end pieces were unusually huge with large chunks of food sticking out. The toppings were carelessly strewn all over. Probably the messiest I've seen. The decor is nice. The windows are blacked out to give the place a darkened effect, even when it's sunny outside. We sat along a wooden bench against the wall, but it was way too hard and uncomfortable. Service was great. Prices were average, except for the sake. My boyfriend thought this place was just mediocre, but I think they deserve a little more credit, considering the location. I wouldn't mind coming back here when we're in this area again.

I stopped into Sushiko during a recent shopping trip to the Boardwalk. I don't like to eat alone, but thought this place would be perfect, because I can sit at the sushi bar and play on my iPhone to keep myself distracted while my food was being prepared. It was fairly crowded at 1 pm on a Friday. Most patrons were wearing business attire, which I thought that was weird because it's not close to a business district. Good sign if people have to make an effort to eat here during lunch. I scanned the menu which was pretty extensive in appetizers, main courses, and sushi...the usual Japanese-American offerings. I decided on the bento box with a tuna sushi roll and vegetable tempura. I entertained myself by listening to the sushi chef bitch at the other chef in Japanese. It was kind of funny, but not so much when I realized he was making my sushi. I felt sorry for the fish he was about to hack to death. The bento box was huge! I couldn't even eat all of it. I could have done without the big lump of rice, but everything else was fantastic and fresh. They should consider serving miso instead of rice when a stir fry or alike dish is not ordered with the box. My waitress was very attentive and checked on me several times throughout my meal and didn't blink an eye when I ordered a beer while dining by myself at lunch. The decor could use some help. It's a dark place and is somewhat intimidating if you have been there before. I look forward to dining here again on my next trip to Bossier.

This place is one of the best. I would put it the food up against any other sushi place outside of NY or CA! Drinks are very reasonable, $6 for a small bottle of Ozeki Dry! The decor Is a bit to restaurant like and could use a makeover to take it to the next level and capture the higher local and more of the casino crowd, but then again it is 25 yards from the Bass Pro Shop so maybe this works for them. Paradise roll is HUGE and easily shared by two. Everyone here is very nice and accommodating and more than glad to specialize your roll(ie spicier and no rice! )

Located at the Louisiana Boardwalk, Sushiko was recomended by some freinds from work. It's a great location, the boardwalk is a pretty fun place to wonder around, not the best mall in the world but that's for a different review I guess. As for Sushiko, it's a nice, clean place with plenty of seating. I sat at the sushi bar as I was by myself. They have a little mini bar in the back corner, not sure what the point of that was, almost looks like a tiki bar you can buy at Costco. You get a free bowl of Miso soup which i'm a fan of, I normally get it anyways so free rocks! I got Unagi and a roll of some kind, forget exactly what it was. The fact that I can't remember a whole lot about it says alot, it was ok, nothing special, and it was a little smaller than what I thought it would be. The Unagi was good, kinda hard to really screw that up. I also got the Amaebi, sweet shrimp, and really wasn't a fan of it. I've never had sweet shrimp before so I dont' know if it was just because I wasn't a fan or if it wasn't all that good. All in all the place is pretty nice and is located at the Boardwalk so i'm sure i'll be back.

I blame myself on this one. I should have known not to try sushi in Bossier City, LA. I pretty much got what I deserved. I guess I figured that since it was a newly developed shopping/restaurant area on the river (The Boardwalk) with many fairly good chain restaurants that this local sushi place would have to be decent. Well, it wasn't. The drinks they had were good and thats how it gets a 1 star (and because 0 stars is not possible). We started with spring rolls. You pretty much have to have sweet and sour sauce for spring rolls. The problem was, it was ketchup with some pineapple juice mixed in! Luckily I didnt dive in and try it, someone else did or I probably would have spit it out. The sushi prices were fairly high but I decided to get 2 of the pricier items since they looked pretty good on the menu. One was served flaming with some impressive description. Well, when it came out it had some tin foil wrapped around the rolls and a little flame. They blow it out and when you unwrap it its just some glorified crunchy rolls ith a mound of fake crab meat on top. My other roll was really good for the first bite, then when I realized it tasted EXACTLY like coffee I started gagging everytime I ate a piece. This place seems like the type of place white people would open thinking they know sushi better than Japanese do. Stay.Away.

Visiting from Calgary and wanted something lighter for diner. Wondered in off the street without any expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised! The chef's were actually Japanese and very attentive. I had the Chirashi which I've had in many sushi places. I figure it's a good way to get a sampling of a number of different types of sashimi. It was very fresh and nicely presented. I didn't think $21.95 which included salad and miso soup was a bad price considering the size of the portion.I'll definitely go back during my two week stay.

This place is great! A little pricy, but good. The sushi is fresh and tasty and the sushimi is plenty in size. I find it hard to believe the people leaving bad reviews about their sushi when they ordered rolls. The rolls are not sushi, at least not in my book. Sushi is raw!

True sushi doesn't have the word "roll" in it. The sushi and shashimi is fresh and well prepared. It's not Nobu but it's not bad (especially for Shreveport, LA). It is also very consistent as I have eaten there more than a dozen times.

This is a nice place to go when you are with somebody who does not like sushi. They have a large selection that is non-sushi related. Like my wife says "stuff that's cooked" lol However the sushi is good.

First visit: Great service. Nice atmosphere. Food was good. Try the monkey brains!!! Second visit: Wow, what a difference. The service was terrible today. Waited much too long for our order to be taken. Our food was served all at different times. Sat not eating for a very long time with no sign of our server to get the bill. Not a good experience today. :( I'll try this place again then revise.

No more! Done for good. Gave Sushiko over a year since my last visit, as last one left a horrible impression. Wife and I were so skeptical we only ordered 1 roll, Sunshine roll, to try first before committing to the rest of the menu. Glad we did. 10$ for a roll that was smaller than my son's California roll. Fish not fresh, slightly chewy , cut poorly (no consistency) and honestly didn't taste good. Service was OK but all over the place, fully expect to wait when the location isn't even half-full. Again, clear lack of upkeep, cleaning etc. Atmosphere is not what it used to be. I implore everyone to please avoid this place. I understand it's at the boardwalk but it is NOT the sushi place it was when it first opened (Which was #1 by far in its glory days). I am not sure what happened, new management or what, but I will not be returning until I see either a new restaurant take it's place or a sign saying "under new management" Diners please read my last two reviews, starting in 2013, this is not a fluke.

Dinner on a whim here tonight... Just an average sushi place. I ordered the Something Wrong #4 and Husband ordered the Pick 3 platter with a Cali Roll, Philly Roll and Texas Roll. My roll was mediocre, partially because it contained something that I was unsure of and the shrimp tempura wasn't fresh. Husband enjoyed his, even though his platter didn't contain as much as the menu lead us to believe. Miso soup was up to par, but the ginger salad was DISGUSTING! I've never had ginger salad dressing like that... And I hope to never again. Service was nice, and we received our food quickly. I'd probably eat there again considering it's location, but would like to try other sushi restaurants when possible.

Talk about fresh sushi! In town for the weekend and came here for dinner. We sat at the sushi bar (getting right in with no wait), and service was fantastic! A must to try is the Give Me Five Roll, and the sashimi sampler. I loved everything about this place, even though it's a pretty small restaurant over all, the ambiance is nice for a nice dinner. We were from out of town, but I would go back!

Great low-key restaurant. In the area for a night and walked over from the Courtyard Marriott. Was in the mood for sushi so I thought I'd give them a try. I would describe this place as a not-so-fancy restaurant with fancy rolls. Come in your shorts, but sushi chefs will make some great rolls. My problem was I came in hungry so I ordered shumai, a Hollywood roll AND shrimp udon noodles. Needless to say that I only finished my roll and didn't touch anything else. The food was good and I'll come back if in the area. My server was nice as well with recommendations (although she should have probably told me that I was ordering for 4 and not for 1! Lol)

Eh. The food was bland. Nothing really stood out as delicious. They added food to the sushi that wasn't in the description and then wouldn't take it off when we didn't eat any of it. I really wasn't impressed. I will not be going back.

Gross. Poor quality food, fish is NOT FRESH. Sticky menus, luke warm miso soup, soggy edamame... I didn't even finish my sushi, it was that terrible!
